WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Electrical drill
- 5/32" Drill bit
- 5/16" socket or open end wrenches
- Phillips head screwdriver

INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
The process should take about 15 minutes:
Remove rear bumpers:
Remove screws
holding bumpers and remove bumpers
Install Frame Extenders: Connect bottom
through foot bolt or screw direct to frame.
Connect top through slot at top of frame.
Install GenTent Tips: Use Long skirt for
installation; position GenTent door
opposite muffler side; handles should be in
the down position when using GenTent
Once these steps are taken, follow GenTent
installation guide.

WARNING
Always shut generator off before performing the steps in this installation guide.
WARNING
Allow generator to cool prior to performing the steps in this installation guide.
WARNING
Never block or cover the generator exhaust muffler in any way. GenTent canopy must be
installed above generator exhaust muffler. Install GenTent electrical skirts such that they
cannot block exhaust in any way.

  • Page 2 REMOVE REAR BUMPERS -The rear bumpers on the Ridgid RD series prevent the GenTent clamps from connecting directly to the frame. These bumpers are held to the frame with 3 screws in the rear of the generator. - Remove these screws and take the bumpers off. This will also provide a more accurate method of measurement for the next step in this process.
  • Page 3 (Fig. B). If this measurement is 23” or more, you will install the Ridgid RD Frame extender at the bolt location. If this measurement is less than 23”, place a mark in the center of the lower frame at least 23” (25”+ preferred) from the rear vertical frame member and drill a pilot hole using the 5/32”...
  • Page 4 - As shown in the figures, the Ridgid RD series handles must be in a folded down position when using the GenTent. It is recommended that the Ridgid be positioned outside prior to storm that may take out power, the handles folded forward, the GenTent installed and generator connected.
