5) Installing the wind/snow prevention duct
(1) Installing the outdoor unit around the obstacles
f It is necessary to install a wind/snow prevention duct(field supply) to direct exhaust from the fan horizontally,

when it is difficult to provide a minimum space of 2m between the air outlet and a nearby obstacle .

(2) Installing the outdoor unit in cold region
f In cold regions with lots of snowfall, install a snow prevention duct, as a sufficient countermeasure, to prevent

snow from accumulating on the outdoor unit . When the snow prevention duct is not installed, frost may
accumulate on the heat exchanger and heating operation may not work normally .
f Air outlet of the duct should not be directed to the enclosed space .

Cautions regarding on installing the frame and selecting the base ground
• Height (h) of the frame and the base ground should be higher than the "heaviest expected snowfall" .
CAUTION
• Area of the frame and the base ground should not be larger than the are of the outdoor unit . Snow may
accumulate if the area of the frame or the base ground is larger .
