Transportation of passengers
and goods
Your CENTURION VARIO was specifically designed
for transporting cargo as well as larger and heavier
objects (e). To ensure a safe ride despite a heavy
load, you need to pay attention to a few points:
– Be sure to load the loading surface area evenly.
Heavy packages should be loaded as far down
as possible. Make sure that the load is as cen-
tred as possible and does not protrude to the
side. Secure the cargo against shifting, e.g. by
using lashing straps (f).
– Do not overload your CENTURION VARIO. The
maximum permissible overall weight is made
up as follows:
Weight CENTURION VARIO 33 kg
+ Rider's weight (kg)
+ Load on rear pannier rack or child seat
with child(ren) in the rear, incl. accessories:
maximum 70 kg
+ Load front pannier rack: max. 15 kg
+ Overall weight trailer incl. cargo and/or pas-
senger(s): max. 45 kg
= maximum permissible overall weight
180 kg
– Before you set off, check that you have enough
space to sit and that the cargo does not obstruct
you. Make sure that the cargo does not impede
braking and shifting. Also make sure that long
objects do not touch the pedals and obstruct the
view.
Transportation of passengers
Since children are very different in their physical
and mental development, the ages given here are
for reference only. For the sake of your children's
safety, evaluate their degree of maturity in a rather
conservative way. In addition, observe and comply
with the laws and regulations in force in your country

regarding the transportation of passengers on bicy-
cles and the necessary safety equipment.
You are allowed to transport passengers on your
CENTURION VARIO under the following conditions:
– In Thule

Maximum 2 children from 1 to at least 4 years old
with a maximum weight of 22 kg per child

– In passenger kit with transport bar, seat
bench including backrest pad, (h), foot rests
and spoke guard

– On the seat bench with handle and spoke
guard:
Maximum one child or young adult from 11 years

and up to a maximum of 70 kg
– In the bicycle trailer:
Maximum 2 children up to a maximum overall
weight of the trailer of 45 kg
The transporting person must be 16 years old at
least.
