GSCM-mini-D Outback Inverter and Onan HDKAL 7.5Kw Diesel Generator Example
Using Remote Port Connection
The GSCM-mini-d accepts Outback's two wire (switched 12VDC) generator start/ run signal to a 3 or 4 wire start/stop signal
for several diesel generators. The Onan RV series diesel generators provide a remote control terminal that for easy
installation. The Onan generators use a positive reference (B+) for their control switch and remote terminal input. The
generators AC output is used as a run feedback signal to know when the generator has started and when it shutdown. When
the GSCM-mini-d receives a start/run command from the Outback inverter it energizes the K2 relay to heat the glow plugs.
After 10 seconds K2 de-energizes and K1 energizes to start the generator. The AC signal tells the GSCM-mini-d when to
disengage the starter and when the generator has stopped when shut it down. The generator's combination switch should be
left in the 'ON' position for the GSCM-mini-d to be able to auto start/stop the generator.
