INTRODUCTION

Please carefully read the instructions for use below before using the appliance.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The first time you use the unit, you may notice a little steam and a particular odor: this is common and will disappear the next time you use it.

Straightening

• Before straightening, wash and towel dry your hair then comb through with a large-tooth comb to untangle.
• Plug in the BaByliss Wet&Dry straightener and push the button. The red indicator light comes on and will start to flash.
• Select the desired temperature using the temperature control. Generally, we recommend the unit be set to a lower temperature for fine, bleached and/or damaged hair, and a higher temperature for curly, thick and/or difficult to style hair. Every hair type is different, so we recommend you use position 1 the first time you straighten. You can gradually increase the setting gradually over the next uses if necessary.
  Use the table below as a guide:

  Temperature	Hair type
  130 – 160°C	Fine, bleached and/or damaged hair
  160 – 180°C	Normal, coloured and/or wavy hair
  180 – 200°C	Thick and/or very curly hair

• Allow the hot straightener to heat up for about a minute. The red indicator light will stop flashing when the unit has heated up to the selected temperature. Your straightener is now ready to use; the red indicator light will stay on.
• Start with the underneath sections of hair. Take a section of about 5 cm width and place it between the 2 hot plates with the appliance positioned close to the roots, being careful to avoid touching the hot surface of the appliance with your hand.
• Hold the hair firmly with the straightener and slide slowly along from the roots to the tips.
• Repeat again if necessary.
• If your roots are still a little damp or if you would like to produce more volume, bend forward and gently dry with a hairdryer.
• Let the hair cool down before you comb it.
• After use, press the button and unplug the unit. Allow to cool before storing away.

The Wet&Dry straightener can also be used on dry hair.
Follow the above instructions, but dry your hair first.

Styling

• The appliance can also be used for shaping the hair. It is as easy to use as a normal brush.
• To create perfectly shaped bobs use as above but turn the appliance under at the end of your hair (as you would a hairbrush) and hold in place for a couple of seconds and then release.
• For flick-ups follow the same procedure but angle the appliance out at the end of your hair instead of under.

Note!
When you are straightening, you might see some steam. Do not be concerned, this could be because of evaporation of the sebum, some residual hair products (leave-in hair care, hairspray, etc.) or excess water that is evaporating from your hair.

MAINTENANCE

• Unplug the straightener and allow to cool completely.
• Clean the plates using a soft, dampened cloth, without soap, to preserve the optimal quality of the plates. Do not scratch the plates.
• To protect the plates, store the straightener with the plates closed tightly.
