The straightener ST430E has the following features:

1. 35 mm x 110 mm floating plates: they make gliding and handling of the straightener easier by applying constant pressure on the hair without damaging it

USE

• Plug in the appliance and switch it on by pressing for 2 seconds the on/off button.
• The default temperature is 180°C. To set the temperature, press the on/off button quickly and the straightener will reach 210°C. Press it twice and the straightener will reach 235°C. Press it a third time and the straightener will return to 180°C.
• The selected temperature display flashes until the temperature is reached.
• Generally, it is recommended that you select a lower temperature for hair that is fine, bleached and/or damaged, and a higher temperature for hair that is curly, thick and/or difficult to style. Because every hair type is different, we recommend using the lowest temperature the first time. For following uses, you can slowly increase the temperature if necessary.
• Thoroughly brush hair and section. Start with the underneath sections of hair. Take a section of about 5 cm width and place it between the 2 hot plates, being careful to avoid touching the hot surface of the appliance with your hand. Hold the hair firmly with the straightener and slide slowly along from the roots to the tips. Let the hair cool down before you comb it. After use, switch off by pressing for 2 seconds the on/off button and unplug the appliance. Allow to cool before storing away.

Styling advices: To style your hair with the ends curling under, use as above but turn the straightener under at the end of your hair and hold in place for a couple of seconds and then release. For flick-ups, follow the same procedure but angle the straightener out at the end of your hair instead of under.

Notes:

• Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface. The appliance is designed with an integrated support to be placed and stand upright during heating.
• The first time you use the unit, you may notice a little steam and a particular odor: this is common and will disappear the next time you use it. Note: When you are straightening, you might see some steam. Do not be concerned, this could be because of evaporation of the sebum, some residual hair products (leave-in hair care, hairspray, etc.) or excess water that is evaporating from your hair.
• Always select a lower temperature during the first use.
• It is possible to use a heat protection spray for optimal protection of the hair.
• If straightening is not effective enough, tighten the plates more firmly on your strand and let the appliance glide more slowly.

AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF

If you leave the appliance on for over 60 minutes, it will automatically shut itself off. If you would like to continue to use the appliance following this period, press the on/off button for 2 seconds to turn the appliance back on.

MAINTENANCE

• Unplug the straightening iron and allow to cool completely.
• Clean the plates using a soft, dampened cloth, without soap, to preserve the optimal quality of the plates. Do not scratch the plates.
• To protect the plates, store the straightening iron with the plates closed tightly.
