Instructions for use

The end of the filament must be cut square before it is fed into the pen.

  1. Connect the USB cable (7) to the pen and then to a 5 V, 2 A USB power adapter (sold separately).
  2. Press [ON/OFF] (3). The indicator light (5) will shine orange and the pen will begin to warm up.
  3. When the indicator light (5) shines green, the pen is ready for use.
  4. Push the filament into the input port (4) as far as it will go and then press [] (6) once to feed the filament forwards. It will take a few seconds for the filament to start coming out of the nozzle.
  5. Press [] (6) to stop the filament feed.

Automatic standby mode

If the Forward filament feed button has not been pressed for 2 minutes, the pen will automatically switch off and the indicator light will go out. Pressing the ON/OFF button will switch the pen back on again.

Changing filament

  1. Press and hold in [ON/OFF, ] (3) for at least 3 seconds to reverse feed the filament out of the pen. The filament will be feed back up and out of the pen and the pen will shut off.
  2. Repeat steps 2 to 5 above. Let all of the previous filament feed out before feeding in a new colour.

Care and maintenance

  • Always feed any remaining filament out of the pen before you switch it off.
  • If the pen is dirty, let it cool and wipe it clean with a soft dry cloth. Never use solvents or abrasive cleaning agents.

Troubleshooting guide

The indicator light doesn't come on.

Make sure that the USB power adapter can supply a current of at least 2 A.
Make sure that the USB cable is undamaged and properly connected to the USB power adapter.
Try another USB adapter.
Is the wall socket energised?

The filament won't feed in.

Is the end of the filament cut square?

Feed out the filament, cut the end square and try again.
