ANALOG INPUT

The SSM2380 amplifier has stereo differential inputs. Connecting and audio signal to the input of the
amplifier can be done using three different connections.
1) Audio Input using J5: Connect a 3.5mm stereo audio connector to J5. This is a stereo connection
with TIP connecting to IN Left +, RING connecting to IN Right +, and shield connected to ground.
In order to use this input and maintain the performance of the device, the inverting inputs of
the amplifier (INL-, INR-) need to be shorted to ground. This can be done using the installed
jumpers on J3 and J4.
2) Audio Input Using J3 and J4: If you would to utilize the differential input of the amplifier, you
will need to use the headers J3 and J4 (or the Test Points which will be mentioned next). These
are standard 0.1" pitch connections and can accommodate numerous types on interconnects.
They are 4 pin connectors with a ground connection on either side of the inputs pins.
3) Audio Input using Test Points: Test points are added in parallel with headers J3 and J4 to
accommodate test clip leads or oscilloscope probes.
GAIN PIN SETTINGS
If using the EVAL-SSM2380Z in Gain Mode, the gain of the amplifier can be set using J15 and J16, as
detailed in the bottom-side silkscreen of the board. This is shown below in Figure 3.
