SSM2380 at datasheet performance levels. The EVAL-SSM2380Z has a 3.5mm stereo analog input jack to supply input to the device. It can be powered via banana jack cables with a 5V supply, and has banana jacks for both outputs. Additional filtering components can be installed for the outputs.
USBi board are necessary to issue the I2C writes to the device. POWER SUPPLY The EVAL-SSM2380Z can be powered by a single power supply, with the +5V (VDD) supplied to banana jack J17, and the GND banana jack supplied to J18. Note that the power supply should be able to supply at least 1A rms current.
GAIN PIN SETTINGS If using the EVAL-SSM2380Z in Gain Mode, the gain of the amplifier can be set using J15 and J16, as detailed in the bottom-side silkscreen of the board. This is shown below in Figure 3.

Figure 3. Gain Settings for J15 and J16 SIGMASTUDIO SOFTWARE When using the EVAL-SSM2380Z in I2C Mode, the USBi Adapter Board from Analog Devices must be used. The 10-pin header of the USBi board should be plugged into J14. Also, the SigmaStudio software from Analog Devices must be installed.

Figure 4. Hardware Configuration Click the “IC 1 – SSM2380_v1.02” tab on the bottom of the screen. This tab allows the user to make I2C writes to the SSM2380 using GUI buttons. Make the desired selections and once a program has been setup, it can be run by clicking the “Link Compile Download”...

Figure 5. Device Programming Once a certain setup has been reached, the instructions can be saved as a project, and re-loaded at a later time. To save a project for future use, click “File,” “Save As,” as select a title and location for the project file.
