4.1. LED Status Indicators

Use the front and rear LEDs and the chart below as a reference to determine the status of your 2big USB 3.0:

The 2big USB 3.0 is connected to a USB 2.0 interface. The disks'
LEDs will blink when it is accessing or writing data.
The 2big USB 3.0 is connected to a USB 3.0 interface. The disks'
LEDs will blink when it is accessing or writing data.
✦ All: The 2big USB 3.0 is starting up. The front LED and the
LEDs of functional disks become solid blue when initialized.
✦ RAID 1 only: Rebuild
The hard drives have been idle for over 30 minutes
One hard drive has failed
One drive has failed or is improperly inserted. RAID is not func-
tional.
Both drives have failed or are improperly inserted.
Temperature alert. To prevent system overheating and poten-
tial data loss, shut the 2big off so that it may cool down. Make
certain that airflow is not blocked and that the room environment
is not too hot.
The 2big USB 3.0 is: turned
for more than 30 minutes; or, experiencing a system or electronic
board failure, such as overheating. In the last case, contact LaCie
Customer Support.
