Operation

1. Connect the round low-voltage plug of the power adaptor to the respective socket on the
USB hub.
2. Connect the power adaptor to a common household wall socket. The LED on the top of the
USB hub lights up.
3. Use the USB cable provided to connect the USB hub to a free USB 3.0 port on your
computer. It is not required to switch off the computer.
If your computer does not feature any USB 3.0 interface (e.g. on the mainboard or
a USB 3.0 card), you may also connect the USB hub to a USB 2.0/1.1 port. Devices
(whether USB 2.0 or USB 1.1) connected to the USB hub, however, will then run at
conventional USB 2.0/1.1 speeds only!
4. Windows recognizes new hardware and installs the driver automatically.
5. Connect your USB devices to the USB hub.
6. One of the USB ports is located on the top of the housing. Bring the flexible flap to a vertical
position in order to connect for example a USB WLAN stick or MP3 player.
7. The USB port marked with a battery symbol and the inscription iCharge can be used for
charging an iPad. Note that this specific USB port must not be used with USB 2.0/1.1
devices, but with USB 3.0 devices only.
One USB 3.0 port can usually supply a current of 900 mA. The power adaptor
provided supplies an output current of 4 A.
For that reason not all USB ports of the USB hub can supply a current of 900 mA,
only a maximum of four USB ports are able to do so.
When connecting an iPad for charging to the USB hub, only two USB ports can
supply a current of 900 mA.
Since not every USB 3.0 device requires a current of 900 mA, more than two or four
devices can be connected to the USB hub respectively.
Make sure the total current draw does not exceed 4 A.
The charging current for the iPad is approx. 1.7 A to 2 A max.
