    Before you start Before you start Assembly WARNING Read the operator's manual carefully to ensure that you assemble the product correctly. Using a product that has been incorrectly assembled could lead to an accident or serious injury. Connect the outer tube to the powerhead Place the powerhead on a clean, flat surface, spark plug fac- ing up.

The attachment will operate immediately when the engine starts and could result in loss of control and possible se- rious injury.

  • Page 27 Maintenance and care Every unit is test run at the factory and the carburettor is fine tuned for maximum performance. Before adjusting carburettor, clean or replace air filter, start en- gine and run several minutes to bring it to operating temperature. The engine must return to idle speed whenever the throttle lever is released.
  • Page 28 Maintenance and care Daily Maintenance Prior to each work day, perform the following: Remove all dirt and debris from the engine, check the cooling fins and air cleaner for clogging, and clean as necessary. Carefully remove any accumulations of dirt or debris from the silencer and fuel tank.
  • Page 29 Maintenance and care Gearcase lubrication Lubricate the cutter assembly gearbox by pumping one or two strokes of lithium-base grease into the grease fitting using a le- ver-type grease gun. CAUTION Over lubricating can cause the gearcase to operate sluggishly and can cause grease to leak out. 1.
