INTRODUCTION The tool is designed for high-speed and high-volume fastening. This tool delivers efficient and dependable service when used correctly with care. As with any fine power tool, the manufacturer’s instructions must be followed for best performance. Please study this manual before operating the tool and understand the safety warnings and cautions. The instructions on installation, operation, and maintenance should be read carefully, and the manuals kept available for reference.

Air Inlet 1. Contact Trip (available system on : FN1850-CT, FS9040-CT, FS9240-CT) The common operating procedure on “Contact Trip” tools is for the operator to contact the workpiece to actuate the trip mechanism while keeping the trigger pulled, thus driving a fastener each time the workpiece is contacted. This will allow rapid fastener placement on many jobs, such as sheathing, decking, and pallet assembly.
OPERATION : AIR SUPPLY AND CONNECTIONS DO NOT USE OXYGEN, COMBUSTIBLE GASES, OR BOTTLED GASES AS A POWER SOURCE FOR THIS TOOL AS TOOL MAY EXPLODE, POSSIBLY CAUSING INJURY. FITTINGS Install a male plug on the tool which is free flowing and which will release air pressure from the tool when disconnected from the supply source.
OPERATION : LUBRICATION Frequent, but not excessive, lubrication is required for best performance. Air - tool oil added through the air line connection will lubricate the internal parts. Do not use detergent oil or additives as these lubricants will cause accelerated wear to the seals and bumpers in the tool, resulting in poor tool performance and frequent tool maintenance.
OPERATION : FASTENER LOADING EYE PROTECTION Which conforms to ANSI/ CE specifications and provides protection against flying particles both from the FRONT and SIDE should ALWAYS be worn by the operator and others in the work area when connecting to air supply, loading, operating, or servicing this tool. Eye protection is required to guard against flying fasteners and debris, which could cause severe eye injury.

OPERATION : FASTENER LOADING Loading the Tool (FN1850-CT / FN1850-ST / FN1850PAL) Open the Magazine Load Fastener Close Magazine Depress toggle and pull magazine Insert nails into track of magazine. Push magazine cover forward to cover to open. close. Make sure the latch is engaged.
There are three available systems in these tools : 1. Contact Trip Operation (available system on : FN1850-CT, FS9040-CT, FS9240-CT) The CONTACT TRIP MODEL tool contains a contact trip that operates in conjunction with the trigger to drive a fastener. To operate the tool in this manner, hold the tool with the contact trip pointing towards but not touching the work surface.

MAINTAINING THE PNEUMATIC TOOL WARNING When working on pneumatic tools, note the warnings in this manual and use extra care evaluating tools with problems. WARNING Always disconnect air supply before clearing a jammed fastener. If a jam occurs on the FN1850-CT, FN1850-ST, FN1850PAL, FS9240-CT, FS9240-ST, FS9240PAL, follow this procedure: 1. Disconnect the tool from the air supply. 2. Pull pusher into lock position or depress latch to pull magazine cover to open, remove remaining staples from the magazine.
