Troubleshooting

Should the puller become inoperative, refer to the
troubleshooting table below. While performing any
repairs, inspect the motor, capstan, and drivetrain.
Problem
Motor will not run.
Capstan does not rotate
while motor is running.
Greenlee Tools, Inc.
Probable Cause
No power at supply circuit.
Faulty switch or wiring.
Motor faulty.
#60 chain broken.
#40 chain broken.
Broken sprocket in gearbox or
stripped shaft in motor.
6000-Series Super Tugger
Possible Remedy
Check power supply with a voltmeter.
See the Specifications section of this manual.
Check the switch and wiring for continuity.
Check the motor and wiring for continuity.
Check condition of brushes. Replace any worn or
damaged items.
Replace motor.
Replace #60 chain.
Replace #40 chain.
Disassemble puller. See disassembly instructions
under Inspecting the Chains and Ratchet Pawl.
Replace any worn or damaged drive components.
