HDMI CAT5 Wall Plate Extender

The KD-HDMIWPRX is a CAT5 to HDMI and PCM wall plate extender receiver

capable of cable runs to distances of 125 feet at 1080P and can be used with or

without the supplied power adapter. This device is intended for use with Key

Digital's KD-HDMIXWPTX, KD-HDMIXCAT5* or KD-CAT5XCAT5.

*Note that when used with the KD-HDMIXCAT5, the PCM input port of the KD-HDMIWPRX has no active signal

Page 5 3. Connections • Plug in the CAT5 source cables to their corresponding ‘Data’ and ‘Control’ input ports of the KD-HDMIWPRX. If you are not using the supplied power adapter, the “Power” LED should illuminate upon plugging in the ‘Control’ input cable if your HDMI source and the KD-HDMIWPTX, KD- HDMIXCAT5 or KD-CAT5XCAT5 are powered on.
Page 6 DVI applications for the KD-HDMIWPRX The KD-HDMIWPRX can also be used to extend DVI video cable runs. For these applications, use DVI to HDMI (Key Digital model number KD-MFHDMI) adapters to feed the HDMI input of the KD-HDMIWPRX. Mounting the KD-HDMIWPRX unit Before permanently securing the unit or final installation of cabling behind walls or ceilings, test for proper operation of the unit and the cables in your system.
Page 7 1. Use the shortest possible HDMI and CAT5 cables between devices. 2. Lower the output resolution of the image source. 3. Use the provided power supply for the KD-HDMIWPRX instead of relying on the voltage in the HDMI cable to power the unit.
Page 8 Test for proper operation before securing unit behind walls or in hard to access spaces. If installing the KD-HDMIWPRX into wall or mounting bracket into sheet- rock, provide proper screw support with bolts or sheet-rock anchors. Read and follow all instructions.
