The KD-CAT5XCAT5 is a CAT5 extender capable of resolutions up to 1080P. It
can be used with or without the supplied power adapter and is intended for use with
Key Digital's KD-HDMIXCAT5, KD-VP8, KD-HDMIWPTX, KD-HDMIWPRX or
KD-CAT5XHDMI.

    Green LED: Power Indicator Instructions The KD-CAT5XCAT5 can receive power from either the CAT5 ‘Control’ connection or via the supplied power adapter. When using the CAT5 cable to deliver power to the unit, performance is subject to the following factors: Ability of the CAT5 cable to deliver the required power over distance Quality of the CAT5 cable.
  • Page 5 3. Connections • Plug in the CAT5 source cables to their corresponding ‘Data’ and ‘Control’ input ports of the KD-CAT5XCAT5. If you are not using the supplied power adapter, the “Power” LED should illuminate upon plugging in the ‘Control’ input cable if your HDMI source and the KD-HDMIXCAT5 or KD- CAT5XCAT5 are powered on.

    1. Use the shortest possible CAT5 cables between devices. 2. Lower the output resolution of the image source. 3. Use the provided power supply for the KD-CAT5XCAT5 instead of relying on the voltage in the CAT5 cable to power the unit.
