1.
Check the engine oil. See
Checking the oil level (page 107).
2.
If the engine oil level is not within
the normal range, top up with oil
that meets the Ford specification.
See Customer assistance,
warranty and service guide
(page 27).
3.
Remove the engine oil filler cap and
use a funnel to pour the engine oil
into the opening.
4.
Recheck the engine oil level. Make
sure the oil level is not above the
MAX or FULL mark on the engine oil
level indicator (dipstick).
5.
Install the indicator and ensure it is
fully seated.
6.
Fully install the engine oil filler cap by
turning the filler cap clockwise 1/4 of
a turn until it is seated.

ENGINE COOLANT CHECK

Checking the coolant level
Make sure that the coolant level is
between the FULL and the LOW
marks.
Note: Coolant expands when it is hot.
The level may therefore extend beyond
the FULL mark.
Have your dealer check the engine
cooling system for leaks if you have to
add more than 1.0 litre of engine coolant
per month.
Topping up the coolant
Do not remove the coolant
reservoir cap when the engine is
hot. Wait for the engine to cool down.
Remove the cap slowly. Any pressure
will escape slowly as you remove the
cap.
