For Proper Operation
Observe the following notes for successful operation of the 10Gb Pass-Through Card, SFP+ and SFP
module.
Use of the card and module ignoring the notes will cause malfunctions or failures of the card and module.
Do not install the 10Gb Pass-Through Card in any Blade Enclosure (SIGMABLADE) unauthorized by
NEC.The Blade Enclosure (SIGMABLADE) that can install the 10Gb Pass-Through Card is as follows.
SIGMABLADE-M : N8405-016F/016AF
SIGMABLADE-H : N8405-040F

The 10Gb Pass-Through Card, SFP+ and SFP module is extremely sensitive to static electricity. Make
sure to touch the metal frame of the chassis to discharge static electricity from your body before handling
the card and module. Do not touch the card and module terminals or onboard parts by a bare hand and
place the card and module directly on the desk.
Do not drop the product. Do not make the 10Gb Pass-Through Card, SFP+ and SFP module hit against
other objects. Failure to follow these instructions may cause the card and module to operate incorrectly or
to be damaged.
Hold the portions covered with metal plates when the 10Gb Pass-Through Card, SFP+ and SFP module
is installed or removed. To carry the card and module, put it into the case in which the card and module
was contained at the purchase and pack it into the package.
Store the unit under the storage condition (temperature: –10 to 55°C, humidity: 20 to 80%, without
condensation) to allow built-in devices and the unit to operate correctly in the next operation.
The 10Gb Pass-Through Card, SFP+ and SFP module contains precision component that is easily
affected by drastic temperature change. If the card and module is used after storage or relocation, make
sure that the card and module is fully adapted to the operating environment.
If the 10Gb Pass-Through Card cannot be installed in switch module slot of the Blade Enclosure
(SIGMABLADE) securely, remove the product once and then install it again. Adding excess force to the
product may cause the Card to be damaged.
Do not use a cellular phone or pager around the 10Gb Pass-Through Card. Turn off the cellular phone or
pager. Radio interference may cause malfunctions of the 10Gb Pass-Through Card.
