2. Slide the battery cover lock away from the cover
to unlock it. Then slide off the battery cover in the
direction of the arrow marked on it.
3. Put a battery in the compartment as indicated by
the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside. The
pager turns on, vibrates or sounds a brief alert,
and briefly displays the preprogrammed start-up
message.
4. Replace the cover and lock it.
