Movie Files Exceeding 4 GB
Even if you record a movie exceeding 4 GB, you can keep recording without
interruption.
 Using SD/SDHC cards formatted with the camera
If you use the camera to format an SD/SDHC card, the camera will format
it in FAT32.
With a FAT32-formatted card, if you record a movie and the fi le size
exceeds 4 GB, a new movie fi le will be created automatically.
When you play back the movie, you will have to play back each movie
fi le individually. Movie fi les cannot be played back automatically in
consecutive order. After the movie playback ends, select the next movie
and play it back.
 Using SDXC cards formatted with the camera
If you use the camera to format an SDXC card, the camera will format it
in exFAT.
When using an exFAT-formatted card, even if the fi le size exceeds 4 GB
during movie recording, the movie will be saved as a single fi le (rather
than being split into multiple fi les).
When importing movie fi les exceeding 4 GB to a computer, use either EOS
o
Utility or a card reader ( = 593). It may not be possible to save movie fi les
exceeding 4 GB if you attempt this using standard features of the computer's
operating system.
