Selecting the AF Method (Live View Shooting)
Magnifi ed View
To check the focus when the AF method is other than [ u +Tracking],
magnify display by approx. 5× or 10× by pressing the < v > button (or
tapping < u >).
Magnifi cation is centered on the AF point for [Spot AF] or [1-point AF]
and on the Zone AF frame for [Zone AF].
Autofocusing is performed with magnifi ed display if you press the shutter
button halfway when set to [1-point AF], and [Spot AF]. When set to
other AF methods, autofocusing is performed after restoring normal
display.
With Servo AF, if you press the shutter button halfway in the magnifi ed
view, the camera will return to the normal view for focusing.
If focusing is diffi cult in the magnifi ed view, return to the normal view and
o
perform AF.
If you perform AF in the normal view and then use the magnifi ed view,
o
accurate focus may not be achieved.
AF speed diff ers between the normal view and magnifi ed view.
o
Continuous AF is not available when display is magnifi ed.
o
With the magnifi ed view, achieving focus becomes more diffi cult due to
o
camera shake. Using a tripod is recommended.
