- Page 6 Operation TENDING THE FIRE □ DO NOT add gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, lighter uid or alcohol to relight or enhance an existing re. □ Use a match to light the kindling or re-starter. □ Wait until glowing coals have developed before adding any additional wood. If additional wood is required, place the wood on top of the coals, taking care not to shift the ashes.
