PROBLEM
7. Loss of mineral to drain.
8. Mineral to service.
9. Water in storage tank up to
float.
10. Excessive water in salt
storage tank. (Water above
brine valve float)
11. Unit fails to refill storage tank.
CAUSE
A. Improper drain line flow control.
B. Air in water system.
A. Control connected to tank
backwards.
B. Defective outlet manifold.
A. Secondary shut-off (brine valve
float) not properly set.
B. Plugged drain line flow control.
(Unit will not draw brine)
C. Plugged eductor system. (Unit
will not draw brine)
D. Slow leak to brine line. Faulty
eductor sleeve or piston.
E. Power outage while control was
in refill position.
A. Faulty brine valve; float shut-
off failure.
When the brine valve is faulty,
one of the items listed under
problem 9 is also required in
order to produce excessive
water in the storage tank.
A. Refill restrictor plugged.
B. Air in brine line causes float to
slam shut. (float rod is rigid)
SOLUTION
i. Ensure that the control has the
proper drain line flow control.
(See Table 7)
i. Ensure that system has proper
air eliminator control.
i. Verify that control is properly
mounted to the tank. (White
coupling on the right (inlet),
black coupling on the left
(outlet)).
i. Replace outlet manifold.
i. Refer to '"A" Dimension
Charts/Refill Rates' to set the
brine valve float dimension.
i. Clean drain line flow control.
i. Clean eductor screen and
nozzle.
i. Replace eductor sleeve and
piston.
i. Verify that items A-D are not
the cause the extra water in
the storage tank.
i. Clean brine valve, replace stem
seat, or replace brine valve.
i. Clean or replace refill restrictor.
i. Verify that all tubing connec-
tions are properly assembled.
