GREEN CLASS METER
FOREWORD
The Honeywell Green Class meter is designed to provide the
enhanced data necessary to supply the user with information
on energy costs and the environmental impact of that energy
consumption.
In addition to totalized energy consumption in kilowatt-hours,
and real-time load in kilowatts, the Green Class meter will
allow the user to approximate the cost by entering the kWh
tariff of the serving utility or energy provider. This displayed
cost is reflected in total consumption and cost-per-hour based
on the "real-time" load.

To bring awareness of the environmental impact caused by
the energy load, the Green Class meter also displays the
carbon footprint created by the generation used to supply
the electrical power. The CO2 emission is displayed in total
pounds based on the kWh reading and is also reflected in
the "real-time" reading of pounds-per-hour. The figures are
derived by use of the national average as presented by the
U.S. Department of Energy.
As a tool, the Green Class meter will provide the user with
the means to both lower costs and environmental impact by
making educated changes in energy usage.
