INSTALLATION DORO X50 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS PARTS LIST 1 - X50 Telephone 1 - Telephone handset 1 - Line cord and adaptor plug 3 - 1.5volt AAA batteries. ASSEMBLY P Plug the line cord into the telephone (5 on the diagram on page1) by inserting the plug into the socket until you hear a click.
DORO X50 INSTALLATION Telephone base: Screw Battery cover Socket for handset cord BATTERY The Caller Display and memory functions need 3 x 1.5 volt AAA batteries to operate. The normal life of the battery is approximately one year. The battery is also used to power the time and date so when the battery low indicator shows in the display, change the batteries immediately.
INSTALLATION DORO X50 RING SWITCH The ring signal is controlled by a 3 position switch on the side of the telephone, OFF/LOW/HIGH. In position the ringing signal is switched off. The LOW and HI positions set the ring loudness. On the base of the telephone is a set of three switches, the top switch will change the tone of the ring signal (see below) The switch has 3 positions.
Loudspeaker function: Headset function: NOTE! We recommended that you use a headset that is suitable for DORO X50. Headsets are obtainable in many retail stores and at varying prices.Your local retailer can help you choose a headset that is suitable.
TELEPHONE DORO X50 DISPLAY The display (4 on the diagram on page 1) has 3 lines of alphanumeric characters on which information is displayed. The top line shows the calling name, mobile, payphone etc. The second line shows the time, date, number of memories, battery indicator, new calls received and VIP - call indicator.
DORO X50 TELEPHONE SET DATE AND TIME To set the correct DATE and TIME on the display do the following: P Press the programming button, for 2 seconds, then release the button. The hours in the Time display will flash.
TELEPHONE DORO X50 TO MAKE A CALL There are three ways to make an outgoing call, by using the handset, the loudspeaker or the headset: CALLING WITH THE HANDSET To make a call with the handset do the following: P Lift handset and wait for dial tone.
DORO X50 TELEPHONE CALLING WITH A HEADSET P Check that the selector switch on the side of the telephone is set to headset (see diagram on page 2) P Press the loudspeaker button (see functions on page 2). Listen for dial tone.

DORO X50 TELEPHONE TO STORE DIRECT MEMORY NUMBERS To store phone numbers in the DIRECT MEMORY do the following: P Press the PROGRAMMING button . The display will show "STORE". P Enter the number (max 20 digits). P Select the memory location by pressing any of the "M"(1 to 10) buttons.
TELEPHONE DORO X50 GROUP LISTENING When you speak with a person, you can, with the group listening function, have the called party on loudspeaker so a group of people can hear what that party is saying. The Group listening function only works when you are using the handset. The switch for headset/loudspeaker on the phones right hand side must stay in the loudspeaker position.
DORO X50 CALLER DISPLAY EXPLANATION OF CALLER DISPLAY The Caller Display function will allow you to see phone number of the person calling before you answer an incoming call. The phone number of each incoming call is stored with the time and the date of the call. Up to 50 numbers can be stored.

DORO X50 CALLER DISPLAY DELETE TELEPHONE NUMBERS There are two ways to delete telephone numbers from the Caller Display memory, you can delete them one at a time or all together. DELETE ONE NUMBER To delete one number do the following: P Scroll to that number you want to delete using the UP and DOWN arrows.
CALLER DISPLAY DORO X50 DIAL BACK FUNCTION In this mode of operation you can dial any number in the telephones memory. To dial do the following: P Press the UP arrow or the DOWN arrow until you see in the display the number you want to call.
DORO X50 VIP-FUNCTION EXPLANATION OF VIP-FUNCTION The VIP function allows you to store one special number in the Caller Display memory. Whenever this special VIP number calls, the new call indicator in the display will flash at double the normal rate.
TROUBLESHOOTING DORO X50 IF THE TELEPHONE DOESN'T WORK If the telephone doesn't work, first read this user manual. Check that the line cord is inserted into the telephone socket correctly. If the line cord is OK, take the telephone to another line connection (next door) and try again.
DORO X50 OTHER DISPLAY IS BLANK: P Check/change battery. Take out the old battery and wait (1 minute) before you install the new battery. OBSERVE CORRECT POLARITY. NO RING SIGNAL: P Check that the ring signal switches are set properly and in the right position.
The X50 is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. In the unlikely event of a fault during this period, please contact our Helpline for assistance. If the product is then found to be faulty you will be asked to return it directly to DORO with a copy of the purchase receipt.
