4. Detector Operation

Saving and Restoring Detector Settings

The d etector op erates in one of three settings:
1.
Cu rrent session.
2.
User setting.
3.
Factory setting, read -only.
These cu rrent settings can be saved (thereby becom ing the u ser setting) u sing the wus (w rite u ser
settings) com m and . The u ser setting can be restored u sing the rus (restore u ser settings) com m and .
While the factory setting can be restored u sing the rfs (restore factory setting) com m and .
The relationship betw een these three settings is illu strated here and d escribed below :
Active Settings for Current Session
The active setting for the cu rrent session is the set of configu ration s that are op erating w hile the d etector
is cu rrently ru nning, inclu d ing any changes you have m ad e to the settings. These settings are stored in
the d etector's volatile m em ory and w ill be lost and cannot be restored if an rc com m and (reset d etector)
is issu ed or if the d etector is p ow ered d ow n or loses p ow er.
To save these settings for reu se the next tim e you p ow er u p or reset the d etector, or to p rotect against
losing them in the case of p ow er loss, you m u st save the cu rrent settings u sing the w rite u ser settings
com m and : wus. Once saved , the cu rrent settings becom e you r u ser settings.
N ote: Each tim e you ru n the app_main com m and a new session starts. Each session w ill load the
d etector w ith the last-saved settings. If you change these settings and w ant to save them for fu tu re u se,
u se the wus com m and to save active settings into non-volatile m em ory before starting a new session.
