2.2.2. Battery Safety Notes and Instructions
The contents of lithium-ion battery cells are highly
flammable and require necessary measurements to ensure
one's safety. You must therefore ensure that you have read
and understood the rules of conduct set out in these
operating instructions.
Attention:
The term "battery" is used in these instructions to cover all original
Modmo rechargeable battery packs.
• Remove the battery pack from the bike before beginning work (e.g

bike, transporting it by car or plane, or storing it. Unintentional activation of
the bike system poses a risk of injury.
• Do not open the battery pack. Danger of short-circuiting. Opening the
battery pack voids any and all warranty claims.
• Protect the battery against heat (e.g. prolonged sun exposure) and fire and
from being submerged in water. Do not store or operate the battery near hot
or flammable objects. There is a risk of explosion.
• Prolonged exposure to hot or cold temperatures will damage the battery.
Store your battery indoors for best results.
• Avoid mechanical loads and exposure to high temperatures. These can
damage the battery cells and cause the flammable contents to leak out.
• Do not place the charger or battery pack near flammable objects.
• Charge battery packs only when dry and in ventilated and in a fireproof
area. There is a risk of fire due to the heat generated during charging.
• The Battery must not be left unattended while charging. Keep the batteries
and chargers out of reach of children.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery pack.
Avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid
contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery pack may cause skin irritations or burns.
• Battery Packs must not be subjected to mechanical impacts. There is a risk
that the battery pack will be damaged causing vapours to escape. The
vapours can irritate the respiratory system. Provide for fresh air and seek
medical attention in case of complications.
• Modmo Battery & Modmo Charger are designed for each other and only for
Modmo E-bikes. Do not use for any other purpose.
• Do not connect the battery electrodes to an electrical outlet.
• Do not short circuit. Otherwise it will cause serious damage of the battery.
• Do not use the battery in a location where static electricity and magnetic
field is great, otherwise, the safety devices may be damaged, causing hidden
trouble of safety.
• In case of not using your bike for long time, in order to avoid of
over-discharged state by its self-discharge characteristics, the battery
should be charged to around 55-60% then removed out of bike completely.
Repeat this instruction after each 3 months.
