Guidelines & Tips
Keep the thermometer's sensor clean. Clean the thermometer's sensor with
an alcohol wipe before and after each use.
When measuring a person's temperature in an environment where the ambient
temperature differs greatly from body temperature, have the person wait in
the test environment for at least 10 minutes before measuring the person's
temperature to allow the person's body temperature to stabilize. Otherwise,
the temperature reading might be inaccurate.
If the thermometer has been stored in a cold or hot environment, allow the
thermometer to acclimate to room temperature for 20 minutes before use.
This thermometer can be used to measure the temperature of objects or
people. After measuring an object with a very high or low temperature, wait at
least 10 minutes before measuring a person's body temperature.
The thermometer should only be used in a stable environment to produce
accurate results. For example, do not use this thermometer in the direct path
of a fan or air conditioner's air flow.
Do not use this thermometer in direct sunlight.
For best results, wait a few minutes after a person wakes up before measuring
that person's temperature.
Make sure the skin of the person whose temperature is being measured is dry
and that hair does not interfere with the temperature measurement.
A person should wait at least 30 minutes after eating, bathing, or exercising
before having their temperature measured.
Do not measure a baby's temperature during or immediately after
breastfeeding.
In some cases, three temperature measurements should be taken. Use the
highest measurement as the most accurate reading:
a. When measuring the temperature of children under three years old with
weakened immune systems.
b. When you are not yet completely familiar with using this thermometer.
c. When you suspect the temperature measurement is lower than it should be.
Due to high metabolism, the body temperature of children under 3 years old
may be slightly higher than adults.
After heavy exercise, always wait at least 10 minutes before taking forehead
temperature readings.
