6 PREPARATION OF THE DEVICE
It is recommended that the entire instruction manual be read carefully before using the unit.
•
Insert the batteries in the battery compartment paying attention to the polarity of each (positive pole is
on the side without the spring). The unit will turn itself on automatically.
•
Close the battery compartment back up again, remembering to replace the O-ring seal provided and to
adequately tighten down the four screws.
•
Position the device on the vehicle keeping the GPS antenna side (underneath the writing GET), pointed
upwards, or as far as possible from coverings that may limit the reception of the signal.
•
Make sure that the unit is attached to the vehicle as securely as possible, so as to limit the
vibrations to which it may be exposed. In particular, avoid that the instrument (in its lateral
perimeter) comes into contact with vibrating parts of the vehicle. This condition could bring
about continual stress to the internal batteries, causing shutdowns.
For application on motorcycles, it would be preferable to locate the instrument on the
upper fork plate.
Faulty installation could prejudice the proper operation of your MD60LOG.
