4.5 PROTECTION CABLES
All the Bombas Omega pumps bigger than 7,5HP have always thermal and antihumidity protections.
To connect these protections to the control panel, the pumps have an auxiliary cable for alarms (4 x 2,5), which is
connected to the control panel.
For the thermal protection, we use two wires of the auxiliary cable for alarms, connected directly to the feed circuit of
the contactor coil (these wires are properly identified). When the electric motor is over heated , this circuit gets open,
so the contactor stops, and the pump is stopped too. We recommend the use of a relay (10A).
For the antihumidity protection, we use the other wires of the auxiliary cable for alarms (4 x 2,5), which are connec-
ted to a signal amplifier relay (necessary in the control panel). Using this signal the pump can be stopped (which we
recommend when it is going to be checked), or it can send an alarm. In any case, this alarm indicates us the water
entry into the oil chamber, so the mechanical seals must be checked.
We indicate the electrical schemes of protections.

THERMICAL PROTECTION SCHEME
There are other optional protections like temperature detector in bearings, humidity detector in the chamber of the
motor etc; In this cases, contact our technical department of Bombas Omega.
4.6 STARTING UP OF THE PUMP
Be careful to connect the electrical cables to the control panel, ALWAYS DO IT
WHEN THE GENERAL SWITCH IS NOT CONNECTED.
Verify that there is a differential switch in the control panel because it is essential to
use it in the submersible pumps, in order to avoid personal damages.
TURN SENSE:
Before placing the pump in its final position it is necessary to check, out of the well, the turn sense. This must
be to the right (clockwise) seen from the upper side of the submersible pump, it means, from the side of the
electrical motor.
