Keypad
The keypad membrane switch sends the commands to the control board when elected by the
operator. For details on key functions, see the Oven Controls and Cooking section of the service
manual.

Testing Keypad

The Chef Express oven has the ability to test each individual button of the keypad from test mode. To
access the keypad test, follow the steps below:
1. From the oven off mode (blank screen), press and hold the number 0 and turn the unit on by
pressing the On/Off key.
2. At this point, you will be able to press each individual button and the display register the
command.
3. If the problem is only with a single button and it the display does not register the command
when pressed, the keypad will need to be replaced.
4. If the problem is with all the buttons on the keypad:
• Check the ribbon cable for any damage or loose connection at the control board. If
damage is present, replaced the keypad.
• If no damage is present and connection is secure, plug in another keypad with out
installing and verify if key functions work before installing. If new keypad operates
normally, then peel old keypad off and install new one.
• If new keypad does not function, replace the main control board.
