Catalytic Converter
The catalytic converter is located inside the cook cavity on the rear wall and is responsible for cleaning
the recirculating airflow. The catalyst functions by burning the grease-laden vapors and breaking
them down into CO² and H²O as it passes through the catalytic converter. The Catalyst will operate
most efficiently at temperatures above 475°F (246°C).
CAUNTION: The catalyst can only be cleaned by approved non-caustic oven cleaner provided by
Pratica Inc. and rinsed with distilled water. The catalytic converter can become seriously damaged if
cleaned with any other product.
Vent Catalyst
In addition to the main catalytic converter, the oven contains a secondary catalyst in the vent tube
path. This catalyst further assists in the breakdown of grease and particulate matter before the excess
air enters the atmosphere. The vent catalyst is located in the rear of the oven and is held in place by
a vented metal cover.
