III. Video PWB Circuit Operation
1. Y/C separation
(1) Overall configuration
The video input signal is input from Pin 1 of the "YC" connector, and led to IC5005, IC5006, Q3060, and
Q9009.
IC5005 and IC5006 are used for signal changeover among this video signal, a Y/C signal processed by 3-line
Y/C separation, another Y/C signal processed by three-dimensional Y/C separation, and one more Y/C signal
(input at Pin 3 and Pin 5 of the "YC" connector) obtained when an input is available at Terminal S. IC5005 is in
charge of changeover in the signal Y system and IC5006 is intended for changeover in the signal C system.

(2) Three-dimensional Y/C separation (for NTSC)
The video signal input into Q9009 is arranged for band limitation by FL9001. It is corrected for level/F charac-
teristics by the amplifier (of Q9011 and Q9012) at the latter stage. The resultant output is fed from Q9013 to
IC9003 at 1.5Vp-p.
The same signal is sync-clamped by Q9017 and the signal sync-separated at Q9018 is entered in IC9004.
Thus the stable signal at 8 times the horizontal frequency is output from Pin 18.
In IC9009, three-dimensional Y/C separation is conducted by the interface between IC9001 and IC9002. The
Y signal is output from Pin 48, while the C signal is output from Pin 51.
The Y and C signals are processed for band limitation at FL9002 and FL9003. They are amplified at the next
stage, and then input in the changeover circuit of IC5005 and IC5006.
