METHOD OF ADJUSTMENTS
(6) Connect an oscilloscope to TP6139 (R-OUT) and make adjustments by pushing the cursor keys "<" and ">"
until the pedestal level attains 600mV DC.
(7) Confirm that the pedestal level is maintained at 600mV DC at TP6141 (G-OUT) and TP6140 (B-OUT).
Advance to the next step (8) when 600mV DC is secured.
Advance to "3-4 Adjustment of sub-brightness" if 600mV DC is not secured.
(8) Select "CONT" by pushing the cursor keys " " and "∨" of the remote control.
(9) Connect an oscilloscope to TP6139 (R-OUT) and make adjustments by pushing the cursor keys "<" and ">"
until the amplitude of the image part attains 1.80Vp-p.
(10) Confirm that the amplitude of the image part is maintained at 1.80Vp-p at TP6141 (G-OUT) and TP6140 (B-
OUT).
Advance to the next step (11) when 1.80Vp-p is secured.
Advance to "3-5 Adjustment of sub-contrast" if 1.80Vp-p is not secured.
(11) Set the input signal for HDTV 100% color bar.
(12) Connect an oscilloscope to TP6140 (B-OUT).
(13) Push the cursor keys " " and "∨" of the remote control and select "COLOR" or 'TINT."
(14) Push the cursor keys "<" and ">" and make adjustments until the waveform as shown in Fig. 3-2-1 appears
in the oscilloscope.

(15) Apply an NTSC 100% greyscale signal (of 8 steps or more) to the HD/DVD input terminal, and repeat the
above adjustment steps (5) through (10).
(16) Apply an NTSC component 75% color bar signal as an input signal, and take the tint and color adjustment
steps (20), (21) and (22), section 3-2, described later as part of the video level adjustment procedures.
(17) Apply a PAL color bar signal as an input signal, and repeat the adjustment steps (12), (13) and (14).
(18) Press the [Menu] key to call the level screen.
(19) Make sure that it is [LEVEL 1]. If it is not, press the cursor key " " or "∨" till it is [LEVEL 1].
(20) Withdraw from the setting mode for factory shipment.
• For adjusting remote control:
Push the "SURROUND" key with the MAIN/SUB switch fixed to the "SUB" side.
• For ordinary remote control:
Push the keys in the order of "MUTE" → "SOUND VOLUME ⁄ " → "SOUND VOLUME ¢ " → "MAIN/
SUB/MONO."
When the adjusting remote control is in use, move the MAIN/SUB switch to the "MAIN" side.
