METHOD OF ADJUSTMENTS
5. Unit inspection for ANALOG PWB and VIDEO PWB
5-1 Setting of inverse gamma
(1) Set the rotary switch SW6602 at "F." (Setting at inverse gamma correction OFF)
5-2 Confirmation of video signal processing
(1) Enter an NTSC lamp signal input in the VIDEO input terminal and select VIDEO input.
(2) Confirm that the video signal appearing in the display makes correct gradation changes.
* There is no problem even when sync turbulence is seen in the uppermost and lower parts of the screen,
or a sudden gradation change point is observed.
(3) Set the input signal for a color bar.
(4) Confirm that color reproduction is normally effected.
(5) Set the input signal for a monoscopic pattern.
(6) Set the screen mode at "NORMAL."
(7) Check whether a normal display is obtained. In particular, confirm that an oblique wedge has no large steps
and it seems normal as a whole. (Confirmation of vertical interpolation processing)
(8) Push the "EASY WIDE" key of the remote control to change the screen mode and confirm that variation
occurs in the order of "NORMAL" → "FULL" → "STADIUM" → "ZOOM" → "NORMAL."
In the case of "FULL" or "STADIUM," however, both screens look like the same as each other in the
monitor.
(9) Change over the input signal to PAL and SECAM, and make the same confirmation in (1) to (8) above.
5-3 Confirmation of video control signals
(1) Select the VIDEO input.
(2) Confirm that "FS" only is flashing in the checking LEDs (except "POWER") of the jig board, and that other
LEDs are unlit.
(3) Assume the setting mode for factory shipment, using the remote control.
(4) Obtain the "POSITION NTSC NORMAL" screen.
(5) Connect an oscilloscope to the checking terminals EXPDAT, EXPCLK, and POSICE of the jig board.
(6) Confirm that a 5Vp-p signal output is available. (Confirmation of serial data output to the digital module)
5-4 Confirmation of HD/DVD signal processing
(1) Apply the lamp waveform of an HDTV, a PAL, or an NTSC component signal to the HD/DVD input terminal,
and select the HD or DVD input.
(2) Confirm that the video signal appearing in the display is free from vertical lines and gradation changes are
normal.
* Synchronization disorder or a rapid change in the gradations might be observed in the top and bottom
parts of the screen, but it does not pose any problem.
(3) Set the input signal for a color bar.
(4) Confirm that color reproduction is normally effected.
(5) Set the input signal for a monoscopic pattern.
(6) Set the screen mode at "NORMAL." Check whether a normal display is obtained. In particular, confirm that
an oblique wedge has no large steps and it seems normal as a whole.
