CHECKING FOR LEAKS:
Strong odors, colds, sinus conges�on, etc. May prevent the detec�on of propane by smell. Use cau�on
CAUTION:
and common sense when tes�ng for leaks.
Note:
The leak test must be performed in an area that has adequate ligh�ng in order to see if bubbles are developing and not in a windy or noisy
area so larger leaks can be detected by smell or sound.
1. C reate a mixture of 50% water and 50% liquid dishwashing soap.
2. O pen the lid.
3. E nsure all control knobs are set to the ' OFF ' posi�on.
4. T urn on the gas at the cylinder valve. Turn the cylinder valve knob counter clockwise un�l fully opened . I f you
hear a rushing sound or smell gas, turn the gas off. Tighten any leaking connec�ons. I f leak is detected at
connec�on nut and �ghtening does not stop leak, re inspect propane tank rubber seal.
5. C reate a mixture of 50% water and 50% liquid dishwashing soap.
6. O pen the lid.
7. E nsure all control knobs are set to the ' OFF ' posi�on.
8. T urn on the gas at the cylinder valve. Turn the cylinder valve knob counter clockwise un�l fully opened . I f you hear a
rushing sound or smell gas, turn the gas off. Tighten any leaking connec�ons. I f leak is detected at connec�on nut and
�ghtening does not stop leak, re inspect propane tank rubber seal.
9. A pply the soapy water mixture to the following:
S upply tank(cylinder) welds.

B ack side of connec�on nut to brass nipple.
C
R egulator connec�ons to gas supply hoses.
E
T he full length of gas supply hose.

10. C heck each place listed(A H) for growing bubbles, which indicates a leak. Large leaks may not be detected by
bubbles but should produce a rushing sound or gas smell.
11. T urn off gas supply at cylinder valve.
12. T urn on control knobs to release gas pressure in hose.
13. T urn control knobs to ' OFF ' posi�on.
14. Tighten any leaking connec�ons. If leak is detected at connec�on nut and �ghtening does not stop leak, re inspect
propane tank rubber seal.
15. Repeat soapy water test un�l no leaks are detected.
16. Turn off gas supply at cylinder valve un�l you are ready to use your pizza oven.
17. Wash off soapy residue with cold water and towel dry.
18. Wait 5 minutes to allow all gas to evacuate the area before ligh�ng pizza oven.
