Start the System

Read the installation instructions before you connect the system to its power source.
Warning
This section provides instructions for attaching the power cables to the router and powering on the router.
The Cisco 7304 router comes with either an AC or DC power supply. A redundant AC or DC power supply option is available.
Using an AC and DC power supply in the same chassis simultaneously is not supported.

Connect AC-Input Power

Step 1 Plug the power cable into the AC-input power receptacle on the AC-input power supply.
Plug the AC power supply cable into the AC power source.
Step 2

Connect DC-Input Power

Warning Before completing any of the following steps, and to prevent short-circuit or shock hazards, ensure that power is
removed from the DC circuit. To ensure that all power is OFF, locate the circuit breaker on the panel board that
services the DC circuit, switch the circuit breaker to the OFF position, and tape the switch handle of the circuit
breaker in the OFF position.
