Lift the cover from the engine and lay to the front of the trimmer.
NOTE
The spark plug lead remains in the cover.
8.
Reinstall spark plug and EZR Starter Assembly to prevent dirt and
debris from entering engine and starter.
NOTE
When installing EZR starter housing to EZR mounting body, be
sure that EZR drive starter cam engages the starter pawls correctly.
9.
Use a brush to remove dirt from the cylinder fins.
IMPORTANT
DO NOT use a metal scraper to remove dirt from the cylinder fins.
10. Remove grass and leaves from the grid between the starter and fuel
tank.
11. Reassemble parts in reverse order of removal. When installing the
cover, be certain:
• the tabs of the deflector shield (A) are in the slots of the cover
• the fuel check valve (B) is positioned in the cover
• the spark plug (C) is tightened securely
• the spark plug lead grommet is properly installed
• the ignition wire (D) is not pinched
