Intended Use
Your DW310/DW311 reciprocating saw has been designed for
professional sawing of wood, metal and tubes. The compact
design permits cutting extremely close to the edge of
difficult areas.
DO nOt use under wet conditions or in the presence of
flammable liquids or gases.
These cutsaws are professional power tools.
DO nOt let children come into contact with the tool.
Supervision is required when inexperienced operators use
this tool.
Young children and the infirm. This appliance is not
intended for use by young children or infirm persons
without supervision.
This product is not intended for use by persons (including
children) suffering from diminished physical, sensory or
mental abilities; lack of experience, knowledge or skills
unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their
safety. Children should never be left alone with this product.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn tool off and disconnect tool from power
source before making any adjustments or removing/
installing attachments or accessories. An accidental
start-up can cause injury.
Mounting the Saw Blade (Fig. B)
1. Open the blade clamp collar 
clamping mechanism.
2. Insert the saw blade 
into the holder

The blade can be installed with the teeth pointing down
or up.
3. Close the blade clamp collar 
clamping mechanism.
To remove the saw blade, proceed in reverse order.

Setting the Adjustable Saw Shoe (Fig. C)
The saw shoe can be adjusted to limit the depth of cut and
prolong the life of your saw blade.

Setting the Pendulum Stroke (Fig. D)
DW311
The adjustable pendulum stroke guarantees a perfect cutting
stroke for different materials. The tool can be used in the
following operating modes:
Straight reciprocating motion: for cutting metal
and tubes and for finishing wood.
Orbital motion: for fast cutting of wood.
Turn the selector

Prior to Operation

Mount the appropriate type of saw blade. Use narrow saw
blades for cutting curves. Use flexible bimetal saw blades for
hard-to-reach positions (e.g. close to walls, etc.).
OPERATION
Instructions for Use

WARNING: Always observe the safety instructions and
applicable regulations.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn tool off and disconnect tool from power
source before making any adjustments or removing/
installing attachments or accessories. An accidental
start-up can cause injury.

WARNING:
Ensure the material to be sawn is secured in place.
Apply only a gentle pressure to the tool and do not
exert side pressure on the saw blade. If possible, work
with the saw shoe pressed against the workpiece. This
prevents damage to the blade and stops the tool from
jerking and vibrating.
When sawing in walls or floors be aware of the
location of pipework and wiring. Always hold the tool
by its handle.
Avoid overloading.
Let the blade run freely for a few seconds before
starting the cut. Never switch on the tool when the
saw blade is jammed in the workpiece or in contact
with the material.
Proper Hand Position (Fig. A, F)

ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown.
