When installing the pump piping, make be sure to observe the following precautions.
Piping should be always run up to the pump. Do not move pump to pipe as this may
make final alignment impossible.
Both suction and discharge piping should be properly aligned and supported
independently near the pump, so that no strain is transmitted to the pump when the
flange bolts are tightened.
Install piping as straight as possible, avoiding unnecessary bends, where ever
necessary, use long radius 45-degree or 90-degree bends to decrease friction
losses.
Remove burrs and sharp edges when making up the pipe joints.
Make sure that all piping joints are air –tight.
