Make sure the clips at either end of the socket are pushed away from the socket. 4. Position the DDR DIMM above the socket. Align the two small notches in the bottom edge of the DDR DIMM with the keys in the socket.

This special information is then stored in battery-backed RAM, which retains the setup information when the power is turned off. The Award BIOS is immediately activated when you turn on the computer.
