Chapter 2 Hardware Description and Connection

2.3.1 Wall Mounting

Screw t he t wo screws provided wit h your Swit ch int o t he wall ( see t he figure in st ep 2) . Use screws

wit h 6 m m ~ 8 m m ( 0.24" ~ 0.31" ) wide heads. Do not screw t he screws all t he way in t o t he wall;
leave a sm all gap bet ween t he head of t he screw and t he wall.
The gap m ust be big enough for t he screw heads t o slide int o t he screw slot s and t he connect ion
cables t o run down t he back of t he Swit ch.
Not e: Make sure t he screws are securely fixed t o t he wall and st rong enough t o hold t he
weight of t he Swit ch wit h t he connect ion cables.
Align t he holes on t he back of t he Sw it ch w it h t he scr ew s on t he w all. Hang t he Sw it ch on t he

scr ew s.
The Switch should be wall-mounted horizontally. The Switch's side
panels with ventilation slots should not be facing up or down as this
position is less safe.

2.3.2 Rack Mounting

The Swit ch can be m ount ed on an EI A st andard size, 19- inch rack or in a wiring closet wit h ot her
equipm ent . Follow t he st eps below t o m ount your Swit ch on a st andard EI A rack using a rack-
m ount ing kit .
