ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Connection must be undertaken by qualified personnel, always adhering to current regulations.
DANGER Risk of electrical shock
In the event of having to replace the electrical cable, for safety, the earth conductor
(yellow-green) must be 50 mm longer than the phase conductors.
If the electrical cable is accidentally disconnected, the earth terminal must be the last
cable to be disconnected.
NO ELECTRICAL PANEL (CONNECTIONS OR CONTROL) MAY BE SITED WITHIN THE PUMPING
PIT.
Remember that the current absorbed at the moment of start-up can be six times greater than the
nominal current. Ensure protective equipment is adequate.
CAUTION
The connection of the electrical cable should be totally airtight.
Check that the grid voltage and frequency match those of the electrical pump.
The power supply voltage should be the same as that indicated on the characteristics plate, with a 5%
tolerance. Always ensure that the absorbed current matches that of the electrical pump.
Ensure that the thermal protection relay setting is no greater than the value given on the plate.

ELECTRIC MOTOR

Three-phase AC asynchronous rotary motor with circuit breaker. The motor is designed to operate
continuously or intermittently, with a maximum 15 start-ups per hour in regular operation.
The stator is wound with class F insulation (155°)
The motor is protected to operate with a 5% voltage imbalance between phases (as per Standard IEC
34-1).

ROTATION DIRECTION

Control of the rotation direction of a motor should be conducted with care before starting up the electrical
pump.
CAUTION
An error in the rotation direction may diminish the flow while it could also cause damage to the pump.
The correct rotation direction causes a counter-stroke in an anti-clockwise direction when facing the
pump on the cord grip side. It is indicated on the pump chassis. In the event of incorrect rotation, swap
2 of the 3 power phases.
IT IS TOTALLY PROHIBITED TO CARRY OR HOLD THE PUMP BY ITS
ELECTRICAL CABLE.
Ensure that the pump's power cable is not damaged. If so, replace it immediately.
CAUTION
The upper end of the cable must not be submerged. It must be appropriately mounted and fastened
above the maximum level of liquid to avoid water penetrating the motor through the cable.
ELECTRICAL PANEL
IT IS TOTALLY PROHIBITED TO CONNECT THE PUMP DIRECTLY TO THE POWER
GRID. IT MUST BE CONNECTED THROUGH AN ELECTRICAL PANEL PROVIDED
WITH ADEQUATE PROTECTION AGAINST POWER SURGES.
