Hybrid battery air vents
Emergency shut off system
When the vehicle receives an impact due to an accident, the hybrid sys-
tem automatically stops, blocking off the high voltage current. Also, the
emergency shut off system cuts the fuel supply, minimizing the risk of fuel
leakage. If this occurs, the hybrid system will not be able to be restarted,
therefore contact your Lexus dealer.
There are air intake vents under
the rear seats for the purpose of
cooling the hybrid battery (traction
battery). If the vents become
blocked, it may become the cause
of malfunctions such as the hybrid
battery overheating, a reduction in
battery output power etc.
