    • If you cut plain paper into small size such as 4" x 6" (10 x 15 cm) or 5" x 7" (13 x 18 cm) to perform trial print, it can cause paper jams. Note • We recommend Canon genuine photo paper for printing photos. For details on the Canon genuine paper, see Supported Media Types.

    Replacing a FINE Cartridge When remaining ink cautions or errors occur, the ink lamps and the Alarm lamp will flash to inform you of the error. In this state, the printer cannot print or scan. Count the number of flashes and take appropriate action.
  • Page 38 • For Mac OS: Setting the Ink Cartridge to be Used • Color ink may be consumed even when printing a black-and-white document or when black-and- white printing is specified. Both color ink and black ink are also consumed in the standard cleaning and deep cleaning of the print head, which may be necessary to maintain the performance of the printer.

    Registering a Changed Printing Profile You can name and register the printing profile you made in the Print Dialog. The registered printing profile can be called up from Presets to be used. You can also delete the unnecessary printing profile. The procedure for registering a printing profile is as follows: Registering a Printing Profile 1.

    Paper Is Jammed inside Printer If the jammed paper tears and you cannot remove the paper either from the paper output slot or from the rear tray, or if the jammed paper remains inside the printer, remove the paper following the instructions below.
  • Page 275 4. Hold jammed paper firmly in both hands. If the paper is rolled up, pull out it. 5. Slowly pull out paper, so as not to tear it. 6. Make sure all jammed paper is removed. If the paper tears when you pull out it, a bit of paper may remain in the printer. Check the following and remove any remaining paper.
