11 Modbus Slave

The GSM-PRO2 can be connected to a PLC as a communication device.
NOTE: It's only possible to use a GSM-PRO2 (not the PRO2E) to act as a Modbus Slave because the GSM-PRO2E
uses the bus connection for different (internal) purposes.

11.1 Hardware

The GSM-PRO2 uses a 2 wire RS485 connection with the RTU Modbus protocol. Connect the GSM-PRO2 to a
PLC using the GSM-PRO-CON.

11.1.1 COM settings

The following COM settings can be configured for the Modbus connection:
Baudrate: 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200
Stop Bits: 1, 2
Parity: None, Even, Odd

11.2 Software

Access the 'advanced settings' by clicking the 'gearbox' icon and select 'Slave'. To connect extensions to the
GSM-PRO2 select 'Master', see chapter 'Extensions'.
The GSM-PRO2 holds 3 types of registers, see the appendix for further details:
1. Message registers
2. Digital registers
3. Analog registers

11.2.1 Slave address

The slave address of the GSM-PRO2 is configured by software. Choose an address between 1 and 255 and
upload this to the module.
