1 Clogged or dirty inlet and/or discharge line filter.

8 Compressor check valve leaky, broken, carbonized or loose
9 Carbon build up on top of compressor pump piston
1 0 Compressor pump piston rings damaged or worn (broken, rough, Install new rings
or scratched). Excessive end gap or side clearance. Piston rings
not seated, are stuck in grooves or end gaps not staggered.
11 Compressor pump cylinder or piston scratched, worn, or scored. Repair or replace as required
1 2 Compressor pump connecting rod, piston pin, or crankpin bearings worn or scored
1 3 Compressor pump crankshaft seal worn or crankshaft scored
1 4 Extremely dusty atmosphere

1 6 Compressor pump worn cylinder finish

Possible Solution
Clean or replace
Drain existing lubricant and refill with D
Check tubing and connections
Drain existing lubricant and refill with D
Add lubricant to crankcase to proper level. Check for bearing damage.
Drain existing lubricant and refill with D
Run unit for longer duty cycles
Inspect valves.Clean or replace as required.
Clean piston. Repair or replace as required.

Replace seal or crankshaft assembly
Install more effective filtration or relocate unit
Relocate unit to warmer environment. Ensure D
is in crankcase.
Degalze cylinder with 180 grit flex-hone
Check the accessory air requirement. If it is higher than the CFM or
pressure supply of the air compressor, you need a larger air
c o m p r e s s o r.
Operate safety relief valve manually by pulling on test ring. If it still
leaks, replace.
Adjust pilot valve. If problem still exists replace pilot valve.
