Taking Pictures with Focus and Exposure Set on
Subject
(Touch AF/AE)
It is possible to set the focus and exposure to the subject specified on the touch panel.
When [AF MODE]
the focus and exposure of the subject automatically even when the subject moves.

The AF area can be set freely at a position on the screen. (Cannot be set at the edge of
the screen)
Touch [
] to go back to the original Focus Mode.
Touch the subject you wish to focus on.
Press the shutter button halfway to focus and then press it fully to
take the picture.
Note
Failure of touch AF/AE may occur depending on the recording conditions in the following
cases.
When the subject is too small
When the recording location is too dark
When the subject is moving too fast
When another subject or background is similar in colour to the subject
When jitter is occurring
When using the zoom
Most appropriate scene is selected for the touched subject in the Intelligent Auto Mode.

the AF area turns yellow
when touched.
When it is set to anything
other than [Ù] (spot), AF
area [Ø] (1-area) is
displayed.
When it is set to [Ù]
(spot), AF area [Ù]

The AF area turns yellow and the subject is locked. The
camera will continuously adjust the focus and exposure
automatically, following the movement of the subject.
