Digital Camcorder Connections

You can connect a digital camcorder to the DVD Recorder using a
single DV cable for input and output of audio, video, data and control
signals.
To View Digital Camcorder
• Power off the DVD Recorder.
• Connect the digital camcorder to the front DV Input using a
standard DV cable (not included).
• Power the DVD Recorder back on.
• Press Disc/Live on the remote control to switch to Live mode.
• Press Input until DV appears on your television screen.
To Record from Digital Camcorder
• Cue the digital camcorder to the desired starting point, then
press Record on the DVD Recorder. See "Recording from an
External Device" on page 23.
• For Timer Recording, select DV as your Input Source in the
Timer Record menu; see "Set Input Source" on page 30.

Other Audio/Video Connections

Follow these steps to connect an external audio/video source, such as
a standard camcorder, VCR, or video game to your DVD Recorder.
1 Connect Source to DVD Recorder
• Connect your source device to the line inputs on the front
panel (Line 1) or rear panel (Line 2) of the DVD Recorder.
2 Choose from the following options:
To View Device
• Press Disc/Live on the remote control to switch to Live mode.
• Press Input until Line 1, Line 1-S, Line 2, or Line 2-S appears on your television screen. The "S" refers to the S-Video inputs.
To Record from Device
• Press Input until Line 1, Line 1-S, Line 2, or Line 2-S appears on your television screen. Cue your external device to the desired starting
point, then press Record on the DVD Recorder. See "Recording from an External Device" on page 23.
• For Timer Recording, select L1, L1-S, L2, or L2-S as your Input Source in the Timer Record menu; see "Set Input Source" on page 30.
