    DVD+RW recordable discs. Look for discs with the fol- lowing logos: otes – The DVD Recorder+VCR cannot record on CD-R or CD-RW discs. – DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW discs recorded using a personal computer or a DVD or CD recorder may not play if the disc is damaged or dirty, or if there is dirt or condensation on the DVD Recorder+VCR’s lens.

    Our compa- ny cannot take responsibility for problems playing discs recorded on this DVD Recorder+VCR in other players. Is Editing a DVD like Editing a Videotape? No. When you edit a videotape you need one video deck to play the original tape and another to record the edits.

    (except for the last recorded title on a DVD+RW disc or a DVD-RW disc in Video mode). Recording TV Audio Channels The DVD Recorder+VCR can record one or two chan- nel audio. For TV broadcasts, this usually means mono or stereo, but some programs are broadcast with a main and a SAP (Secondary Audio Program) audio channel.

    Connect to a TV with an S-Video Input. OPTICAL (Digital Audio Out) Connect to an amplifier with an optical digital audio input. Caution Do not touch the inner pins of the jacks on the rear panel. Electrostatic discharge may cause permanent damage to the DVD Recorder+VCR.

    To view or record a CATV channel: 1 Tune the TV to the correct video input channel. 2 Set the DVD Recorder+VCR to the output channel of the cable box using the CH (v / V) or the 0-9 keys on your DVD Recorder+VCR (e.g., CH3).

    Use a DV cable (not supplied) to connect the DV in/out jack of your DV camcorder/video deck to the front panel DV IN jack of the DVD Recorder+VCR. This jack is for connection to DV equipment only. It is not compatible with digital satellite tuners or D-VHS video decks.

    Use v / V to choose your Time Zone. You can set your local Time Zone manually. When Time Zone is set to Auto, the DVD Recorder+VCR will use XDS information to determine the proper setting. Use B to choose the Daylight Saving option.

    The last column (Monitor Audio) shows what you will hear during recording. For example, if the TV broadcast is in Stereo, then setting the DVD Recorder+VCR to Stereo will record the broadcast in Stereo, and the Monitor Audio will also be in Stereo.

    Basic Recording One Touch Copy - DVD to VHS You can copy the contents of a DVD to a VHS tape using the COPY button. If the DVD you are attempting to copy is copy-protect- ed, you will not be able to copy the disc. It is not permit- ted to copy Macrovision encoded DVDs.
